Day 2 Pokhara to Nayapul (1hr drive) & trek to Hile in 3 hours. 

To reach the start point of our trek we take a short drive west of Pokhara to Nayapul.  The trail today is short and gentle as we follow the Bhurungdi Khola (river) upstream to Hile. At Hile our hosts who are renowned for their hospitality welcome us.

Day 3 Hile – Ghorepani in 6 hours.

As we leave Hile behind the trails we follow from today are established and wide, and woven into these are stone stairways. Originally a horse watering post, Ghorepani has evolved into an important crossroads for tourists and the numerous mule caravans on the Jomsom to Pokhara trip.

Day 4 Ghorepani – Poon Hill (3,200 m) – Tadapani in 5 ½ hours.

To capture one of the highlights of this trek we leave early in the morning for Poon Hill (3,210m).  A 45 minutes walk above Ghorepani brings us to the panorama of peaks – Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Annapurnas, Machhapuchhre, Manaslu (8,163m) and many more. We then retrace our steps to Ghorepani and continue towards Tadapani through rhododendron woods.

Day 4 Tadapani – Jhinu Danda in 5 ½ hours.

A short distance further on up the Modi Valley we arrive at Jhinu Danda our destination. Time is available to relax in Jhinu Danda’s hot springs with amazing views of Annapurna South (7,219m) and Machhapuchhre (6,997m).

Day 5 Trek to Birethanti (1,050m) then Drive to Pokhara in 5 hours.

Our final morning of walking starts with the trail dropping down to the Modi Khola. Beyond here, the trail’s gradient levels as we walk alongside the river passing through a number of villages and orange orchards to Birethanti.  From here we drive back to Pokhara, arriving late afternoon. After Lunch Depart for onwards Journey.

HOW to Reach Pokhara

Pokhara is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Nepal. Located at an altitude of around 900 m, the place is dotted with stunning mountain views, landscapes and splendid cultural palaces. If you are wondering how to reach Pokhara then the distance to Pokhara can be easily covered by air and road. The best way to reach Pokhara is to take a direct flight to Kathmandu followed by another flight to Pokhara. There is a direct bus also available between Kathmandu and Pokhara. In addition, there are direct cross-border buses available between UP and Pokhara. Also, one can take a flight to Kathmandu and from there can take direct buses or flight to Pokhara. The distance between both cities is around 210 kilometers and can be covered in around 6 to 7 hours.

By Air

Tribhuvan International Airport is the only International airport located in Kathmandu, Nepal. There is no Pokhara airport, although it has its own landing field. One can fly to Tribhuvan airport and then can take an additional flight to Pokhara. The distance between Pokhara and Kathmandu is around 201 kms and can be covered in 5 hours 40 minutes. Popular airlines such as Buddha Air, Yeti Airlines, and Simrik Air serve this Pokhara route.

By Train

There is no train option travelling to Pokhara, Nepal. The closest railway stations which one can arrive are Jaynagar, New Jalpaiguri or Gorakhpur. From there crossing the corresponding borders of Panitanki or Sunauli, one can take a bus to Pokhara via Kathmandu.

By Road

It is a good idea to travel to Pokhara by road, since it is the most convenient way of travelling to Pokhara. One can directly travel to the cities like Gorakpur or Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, and by crossing the Sunauli border can catch a bus or book a private car to reach Pokhara. The journey will take upto 8 hours to complete. Or one can fly to Kathmandu and then take public or private transport to Pokhara. The distance between these two cities is 210 kms which may take upto 6 to 7 hours.
